The arrival of another lonely soul changes his life as he strives to help. Join Hoglets Theatre on a magical journey of singing owls, fantasy worlds, friendship and love.

Featuring beautiful handmade puppets, Wood Owl and the Box of Wonders is a heart-warming, visually enchanting children’s theatre experience that blends puppetry, original music, and immersive storytelling.

January 15th: Mettle: Next Professional Theatre Night:

‘Mettle’ is touring nationwide and we are delighted to be hosting this performance in our locality. It will be a great play, so do come and join us on 15th January.

It is for anyone who enjoys live theatre, anyone with an interest in military history and/or World War 2 in particular, anyone who enjoys a thread of relatable family-ties, anyone who likes their heart warmed alongside some drama, some humour, and some story-telling! Added to this, we have the privilege of a Q & A session with Nicholas after the show.

From his childhood in Sheffield in the 1960’s, through to the present day, award-winning solo performer Nicholas Collett (“Spitfire Solo”, “Nelson – The Sailor’s Story”, “Your Bard”) takes us on an epic journey, retracing his father’s steps, from Liverpool to the USA and back, via Sierra Leone and Nova Scotia, reliving the utter terror of U-boat attacks, the storm-tossed ocean, along with the lighter moments of serving aboard a wartime destroyer – including a close encounter with Glenn Miller – in a captivating and physical solo performance.

A tale of love and loss, both moving and funny, above all life-affirming and a paean to those we miss most.
